Project Concept

This project began with a small observation: the everyday habit of placing clothes temporarily — a jacket on a chair or accessories on a table. These simple moments revealed a need for a more organised and compact way to store daily essentials.

The Clothes Valet was developed as a compact object that integrates multiple functions into one structure. Using outerwear as the main anchor, the design gradually extends to accommodate other items such as inner garments, accessories, and shoes, while maintaining balance and spatial efficiency. Through making and testing, the project explores how extension, balance, and material expression can work together to create a functional yet carefully considered piece of furniture.
